Last blog assignment about helpful information by this summer classes.

The hardest thing about finding information and doing research on a topic for me is finding pure website which provides the actual information about the particular subject. As my own experience I was researching for the current fact sheet on HIV diseases for my Health Disparities class. I typed the disease name in search box and search result give me more than thousands result with in a seconds. I was confused which I have to view for my research paper and give fact information about the disease to my classmates. Finally, I decided to click on one website which was cited by .Gov at last and I took information from that website which was really helpful for my fact sheet. Before that someone told me it is government website when it is cited in .Gov.

This course helps me a lot like helping me to find the correct information through the different Medias and good website which will provide the actual information about the particular topic. After taking this class I know how to identify the good website and how to purify the website that we can get true information regarding our topic. And I didn’t know all those stuff before and I am glad to take this class which helps me a lot while searching information through internet resources. I knew good website for researching the information by participating in this summer library class. I didn’t know about the Google setting before but after taking this class now I know how to get the purified information by managing the Google setting like changing the setting into strict option which you will provide more specific information about the particular subject.

"Since everything is on the internet, I didn't need book..... right?"

            “Since everything is on internet, I didn’t need to use book…..right?” A great statement that might be true for many people.  As today’s generation is the generation of power, strength, ability, science and technology. People are depending more and more on internet rather than on book. However, there are many places in the world where people do not even know about internet. People may prefer to using internet instead of opening book and searching for things page by page but for me, internet is not the one and only tool that I might prefer to use in my life. In order to learn new things and gain new experience in my life I must read books. It does not means that I will not find books on internet but the thing is internet may not be available in every place I go. I could still use internet to learn new things but I have to be careful on the information that are provided because every things on internet may not always be true.

            I do agree that everything is on internet but I don’t think I would prefer not to use book at all. Internet will not be enough for me to explore myself. For example: if I want to cook new item that I had never cooked before, I do need to read the directions on the cook book. I can also use the internet to find the cooking recipe but what if I live in remote area where no internet service could be reached? In this case book will be the best option for me to use. I think it is always good to use internet to learn things but it may not be the best idea to ignore book and depend totally on internet... As today’s world is floating on the ocean of science and technology, it is always good to have better skills on using internet. However, forgetting about the book and leaning totally on it might lead our brain to have short-term memory.

            Therefore, internet and book are like two sides of the same coin for me. Using only one and ignoring the other is not worthy for me. I must use both to make sure about the information I am looking for. Using only one of those internet or book is not going to lead my life towards success. Even though everything is on internet, I do need to use book.

What do you think librarians do? What do you think would be really cool if librarians started doing it? What do you think the library if the future look like?

ð => Librarians do various types of things in library which can help people to finds the books and various resources or material which are related to the educational research. They helped people to find the actual thing in absolute location at library. Even though they helped people to research things which the librarians are familiar with. Librarians organize thing in chronological order so that people can find things faster. Also they will suggest good website to view for the research paper. They helped new people to sign up and will assist them to make a library card so that people can utilize library property and they can checkout things from library and utilize for different purpose. It would be cool if librarians help students or public people with their projects and assignments. It will be better if librarians helps new people about the basic computer skills so, they can elapse their time by using public property. I think the library in the future will be full of various types of technologies which will may decrease the population of librarians which means employment in library sector will decreases. As the world is running through advanced technology, which means the machine may overtake people and they may start doing things by themselves which will also have negative impact on human being such as economic and employments. In future library will be like a study lab where people can use as study resources to prompt their future to good path where they can be a successful person.

What do you hope to study when you go to college and why? How is the pre-collegiate program helping you meet your goals?

I hope to study medical science when I go to college because I want to be an assistant physicians or physician. I want to take this carrier because I remember my childhood, when I was overdose by doctor giving me more medicine. When I was small kids walking in the street who is full of muddy clothes. I used to have different types of diseases which are contagious to other like scabies, common cold. I used to admit to hospital frequently due to all the small issues in my bodies, which give my parents more bodern and I didn’t want anybody should be treated like me in my early childhood. I want to help my society or community by providing all the safety health issues and mistake certainly done by doctor toward the patients.  I hope the pre-collegiate program help me to meet my goals in various ways. To be a physician it is almost challenging and we have to struggle in several context which may make us more tried. The pre-collegiate program helps me by giving me all the challenges courses which are similar to colleges or university courses which will make my habit to study and teach me how to overcome all the challenges of particular courses. This program is related to the people who are pursuing their carrier to medical fields like doctors, nurses, physicians, pedestrians etc. This program teaches us about the minor things about first entry toward our carrier field which will connect us to our future goals which we are trying to pursue in future.
